Guitarist/Udist/Author/Professor/Producer/Daddy/Dog Owner Jeff Peretz was born in Newark, NJ in 1968. He is a faculty member of the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University, Third Street Music School Settlement, The New School University, and Marymount Manhattan College. His books include Zen and the Art of Guitar (Alfred 2003), Guitar Atlas: The Middle East (Alfred 2004), and Guitar Atlas: Cuba (Alfred 2007). Jeff’s groups, The Jeff Peretz Group and Abu Gara been performing for over 20 years in all of the major venues in NYC and have been featured in the St. Marx Park and Citibank Summer Concert Series’. His annual concerts for the Artist Performance Series at the Third Street Music Settlement have garnered rave reviews and have been known to attract audience members as diverse as jazz guitar master Jim Hall and bassist/composer Yosi Fine.
