Since producing the debut album for the Jeff Peretz Group - Vitality of Expression - in 1993, Jeff has been involved in the studio with many different projects in several different capacities. A pioneer of the Hip-Hop / Jazz movement of the early 90s as the leader of Inner Urge, Jeff experimented early on with blending samples, loops and digital information with carefully recorded acoustic and electric instruments. Known as NYC’s premier music theorist, Jeff has an exhaustive knowledge of musical and recording styles from around the globe as a result he is consistently sought out to fully realize recordings an any and all styles. Whether he is co-writing, arranging, performing, editing, engineering or mixing (often doing all on the same project), Jeff is at home on either side of the glass and is constantly involved with discovering and developing new talent.
Eliza is the youngest ever winner of the prestigious John Lennon Song Writing Contest “Song of the Year” for “Bridge Song” produced, arranged and mixed by Jeff Peretz. The song “West Coast” was written by Eliza and features her on guitar, vocals and piano, Jeff on bass, guitar and piano and Kyle Olsen on drums. It was recorded at Headgear Studio in Williamsburg and was produced, arranged and mixed by Jeff.
Roberto de Paraná
Roberto de Paraná is a modern classic. Traditional Bossa Nova with a modern twist. This song was written Roberto (horn arrangements by Jeff). It features Roberto on guitar and vocals, Barney McCall on piano, Jeff on bass, Kyle Olsen on drums, Chris Lucca on trumpet and Dave Masucci on flute. "FC Porto" was recorded at Headgear and was produced, arranged and mixed by Jeff.
The Amygdaloids are a New York City band made up of scientists who write songs inspired by their research about mind and brain and mental disorders. This song was written by Joe Ledoux, and was performed by the band and recorded at Headgear Studios and at NYU. The song was arranged, produced and mixed by Jeff.
Singer/Songwriter/Actor Winslow Bright’s new album will is pulling from her love of classic Motown-era songwriting, 70’s disco and cinematic favorites like this one originally made famous by Cher and Nancy Sinatra. Written by Sonny Bono, it features Winslow on vocals, Jeff on guitar, bass and synth and Kyle Olsen on drums. It was produced, arranged and mixed by Jeff and recorded at Headgear Studio.
Prat is the former bass player for Care Bears on Fire and Almost Alison. She has been described by Dr. Alex Reed as “Joan Jett with good grades." This song was written by Lulu and arranged, mixed and produced by Jeff. It features Jeff on guitar and Kyle Olsen on drums. It was recorded at Russell St Studio in Greenpoint BK.
Fly Baby is a young Indy/Dance/Party band from NYC. This song was written by Jeff and the band, performed by the band and recorded at Headgear Studio. "Imagination" was produced, arranged and mixed by Jeff.
Grace Kelly is a self-described “Southern gal living in a big city.” This song is from her upcoming EP. It was written by Jeff and Grace and features Grace on vocals, Jeff on guitar, bass, synth and percussion and Kyle Olsen on drums. It was recorded at Headgear and produced and arranged by Jeff.
Lana Del Rey
This song is from Lizzy’s pre-Lana days. It features a sample of a street signal box which inspired the lyric, and was written by Lana, Jeff and the late Gerard A. Smith (of TV on the Radio). The sample was provided by Gerard, Lana sings and Jeff plays drums, bass and guitar. It was recorded, produced and mixed by Jeff at Axis Sound.

Cheyenne Tozzi is an Australian super model and one half of the duo Van Hoorn. This song is a pre-Van Hoorn favorite of Russell Simmons. It was written by Jeff and Cheyenne, sung by Cheyenne and was recorded, performed, arranged and mixed by Jeff. Rap by Yah Supreme.

Jack (Staffen) and Eliza (Callahan)’s Motel Home is from their forthcoming EP of the same name. What started as “just writing some songs” has quickly gotten much attention from the industry. Motel Home was written and performed by Jack and Eliza and produced and mixed by Jeff in Zozo’s Bedroom, Brooklyn.
James is a UK based healer / ayurvedic yogi / musician whose music is part of his program. This song was written by James and Jeff and recorded at Axis Sound. It features James’ amazing Hang (a UFO shaped idiophone constructed from two half-shells of deep drawn, nitrided steel sheet glued together at the rim) playing and Jeff on all other instruments.
